The humorous story is told gravely; the teller does his best to conceal the fact that he even dimly suspects that there is anything funny about it. ~ Mark Twain I want to mention that Twain's autobiography Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 2: The Complete and Authoritative Edition (Mark Twain Papers)
is now out. This is notable because he specified that it should not be published until he'd been dead 100 years. Kinda makes one curious about who he turned that rapier wit on, doesn't it?
I have to get my hands on that one.
